AS220 is having Action Speaks! on all the Wednesdays except for next Wednesday, the 8th. So, see you all next week for Dennis Brown's excellent ASProx talk. /ducksauz From john at duksta.org Tue Oct 7 10:25:16 2008 From: john at duksta.org (John Duksta) Date: Tue, 07 Oct 2008 14:25:16 +0000 Subject: [dc401-l] tuesday night hack tonight? Could you let us all know if you'll be around tonight? Hi all. I'm down in south county this afternoon and probably won't make it back to Providence before 5pm or maybe even 6pm. Sorry all... This pretty much obviates our need to buildout a hacker space, as the FabLab will have all the things we wanted to have in the Hacker Space and then some. I told everyone a while back that I was going to hit you all up for some funds to get the hacker space going. We don't have to do that for the hacker space, but AS220 is getting started with fundraising the initial capital they're going to need to get the FabLab off the ground. Shawn will be at tonight's DC401 meeting with information on membership options for the FabLab. Starting your membership now will help get the FabLab off the ground and get you access once it's open. More details can be found here: http://pauldotcom.com/2008/10/ri-linux-installfest-winter-ed.html I know many of you are already hardcore Linux geeks, and we could certainly use your help! There will be many people there new to Linux, so this is your chance to teach them and show them just how great it truly is! Also, I like to encourage experienced users to come, as its a great time to hang out with fellow Linux geeks, and maybe even try a more challenging Linux install yourself. Oh, and if that doesn't do it for you, there will be free food (Breakfast and lunch), and free beer. Hope to see you there...
