The CIP Cyber Security Specialist will support the security compliance
activities related to the North American Electric Reliability
Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Cyber
Security requirements, compilation and program plans. The Specialist
will support evaluations of security threats and vulnerabilities,
security investigations/audits, standards interpretations and analysis,
and ongoing program risk assessment activities.

    1. Leverage a strong IT security background in the deployment,
       operation and maintenance of cyber security mechanisms of both
       applications and general support systems.

    2. Compile, collect and maintain compliance related records and
       document approvals.

3. Support and conduct required CIP and security training.

    4. Maintain and socialize security policy change requirements to meet
       business and compliance requirements.

5. Serve as a subject matter expert for the NERC Cyber Security
requirements; support daily compliance activities tasks and audits.
Provide general and technical feedback and assistance on the
interpretations of cyber security requirements.

6. Support the Incidence Response team during annual drills and
procedure updates. Conduct CIP security incident and event analysis and
provide solutions for critical security issues utilizing best practice
approaches.

7. Responsible for responding to off-duty call-outs and required to
carry a pager. Position will require overtime as deemed by the Process
Owner of EMS.

8. Work cooperatively with  Major Capital Projects, Engineering,
Operations, IT, Telecommunications and other groups as applicable, in
support of CIP Cyber Security requirements and successful compliance.

9. Represent on various regional, ISO and transmission owner committees.

10. Perform other duties as assigned by the Process Owner of Energy
Management Systems.

*Qualifications*

	

A Bachelor?s degree in a technical field is required and at least 5
years of IT Security and/or technical CIP compliance support in a
transmission organization. The years of experience must demonstrate
skills at a technical/professional level, and managing internal and
external Stakeholder relations.

The Specialist will have a solid understanding of electric transmission
control systems and extensive expertise in Network Security. The
Specialist role will also require a demonstrated ability to maintain
strict adherence to procedures and policies designed to maintain
reliability and safety in critical systems.

The candidate who fulfills the Specialist role must have or be willing
to gain a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of CIP reliability
standards. S/he also must be able to adapt to frequent changes to
technology and requirements in a fast-paced, learning organization
environment.

The individual who fulfills this position must possess the ability to
work independently, communicate clearly in writing and verbally as well
as be a participative member of a collaborative team. S/he must also
possess the ability to serve as a subject matter expert for working
groups and meeting with stakeholders.

General security certifications such as CISSP desired. Microsoft
certifications desired.
